A Vehiclist favorite, ( any guesses why? One hint: wagonish ) the TOYOTA VENZA has been updated. Can’t see the difference? It’s subtle. The Venza now sports “Toyota’s new front end grill treatment”. Huh? Toyota has a new grill treatment? Well, this is different from the new Avalon, and certainly different then the new Yaris, but it does sort of look like a version of the grill on the Sienna. Ok, whatever – instead of trying to figure out the Toyota press release, we’ll just say it has been updated. And although the change is nuanced, it does look better. The headlights now have an optional LED strip and the whole grill is streamlined. And that is about the extent of it. The Venza continues to be a smart, nice package – even if it sort of defies categorization ( right Gianna? Is it a crossover or a wagon? ). This update keeps it current and a good choice. And now it continues to be stylish. Really…

Yup. Worthy of mention. It looks better than its class. Maybe part of what’s unexpectedly fun about Toyota is that they’re so bad at creating a ‘corporate identity’ that their cars can look good independent of brand history or rules. Imagine if Porsche hadn’t the tether of the 911 design language. The Cayenne could have looked like this and gained endless accolades.
