BERLINETTA for Grenetta

I am not a huge Ferrari fan. There I’ve said it. I know there are lots of rabid Ferrari afficianatos out there that will simply cringe when they read that. I guess they are cool, it’s just that I’ve never really lusted after one. They’ve always seemed just slightly out of reach to really care about. Maybe its the storied history of racing – a sport I couldn’t care less about, and maybe the association is just too much. I see them around LA all the time – so they hardly qualify as “exotic” in these parts, but the truth is, they are. They are special amazing hand built cars. Each has an involved and intricate lineage, and for that reason, they grab loyal fans and never let go. I just look at them and think, meh. Its cool, but I am not really a sports car kind of guy. Would I like to drive one? – sure. Would I like to own one? No. But ask me after I win the lottery. Still this new FERRARI F12 BERLINETTA is a looker. And the name reminds me of a dear friend, we all call “Grenetta”. I have no idea how she feels about Ferraris, but I know she appreciates a good car and a good drive. As I look at this car, I picture her, with her contagious smile, hearty laugh and familiar spirit – the two of us cruising down the highway many times, side by side, always finding the humor in life and always happy to be in each other’s company. I will always cherish those hours together, those talks and those moments – and we did them in some pretty cool cars. Never in a Ferrari, but who knows what the future brings. You know Grenetta, if you can find Santa in the sky, then maybe I can find a Ferrari for us….   I may not know much about Ferraris beyond that they are special, cool and beautiful. Just like Grenetta.  Maybe I’ll become a fan after all.  xxxooo

I’m a big non-fan of Ferraris also. They just seem like sports shoe for a sport I don’t want to play or be a part of. Like one of those Reeboks with a lot of air-spaces and ugly stripes. I’d take a 400i, since it looks like an old Opel but that’s about it. Somehow, they keep on turning them out even without me though. Good for them!
